Implementing 2020 World Programme on Population and Housing Censuses

  • Wednesday, 6 MAR 2019
  • 1:15 – 2:30 pm
  • Conference Room 4

Meeting organized by United Nations Statistics Division

The side-event on the 2020 round of population and housing censuses focuses on the use of contemporary technologies. NSOs are increasingly utilizing modern technologies for improving the effectiveness of census operations as well as for improving the quality of census results. Integrating geospatial information with census data provides many benefits for supporting and monitoring field enumeration and enhancing the usability and accessibility of census results. Geocoded census data allows NSOs improving analytical power of census data for producing policy-oriented information disaggregated by a wide range of topics and also for integration of different data sources. The side event will feature the experience of Malawi, Brazil, Philippine and United States.
