Guidelines on Integrated Economic Statistics

The Guidelines on Integrated Economic Statistics provide practical guidance on advancing consistency, coherence and reconciliation of statistical information through the application of the methodology of integrated economic statistics using the System of National Accounts 2008 as the overarching conceptual framework. The guidelines also provide case studies and other practical material to share experiences in implementing an integrated statistical production approach in national statistical systems.

The guidelines were released in 2013 and are available in different languages on the National Accounts Publications website.

Global Consultation on Guidelines on Integrated Economic Statistics - CLOSED

The Guidelines on Integrated Economic Statistics have been developed in accordance with the request of the United Nations Statistical Commission (UNSC) in 2008 at its thirty-ninth session to address the user needs for coherent basic economic statistics and macroeconomic statistics.

The guidelines have been prepared as a collaborative effort of the Friends of the Chair on Integrated Economic Statistics composed of experts of statistical offices of United Nations Member States and international organizations, building on the broad principles, conclusions and recommendations laid down in the 2008 UNSC Report (see reference below).

A global review on the draft guidelines was undertaken between December 2010 and January 2011 to seek comments from senior management of statistical organizations. 56 comments were received.
