TSG-CBF meeting

Meeting of the Technical Subgroup on the Classification of Business Functions

  • Virtual Meeting
  • 4 - 5 November 2020

Overview

The Technical Subgroup on the Classification of Business Functions (TSG-CBF) was created by the Expert Group on International Statistical Classifications to develop an international classification of business functions for the analysis of outsourcing. Nowadays multinational enterprises organize their businesses among various enterprises across the world. An international classification of business functions that reflects the way in which companies structure their operations, is important for the measurement of outsourcing, Global Value Chains (GVCs) as well as the link of business functions with international trade flows.

The main objective of the meeting of the TSG-CBF is to review and finalize the draft classification of business functions that was developed by Eurostat based on country practices and the experience in the international survey of outsourcing.
