Environmental-Economic Accounting

The Environmental-Economic Accounts Section focuses its activities on the following areas:

Methodology through the advancement and standardization of statistical methods, classifications and definitions in the area and the publication of statistical standards, compilation guidelines and training materials;

Coordination of the activities in the development and standardization of methodologies and implementation practices through active collaboration with other international organizations, countries, NGO’s academia and city groups, in particular the London Group on Environmental Accounting and the UN Committee of Experts on Environmental-Economic Accounting to which it provides the Secretariat;

Technical cooperation and assistance to countries through workshops and country projects.

The Third Meeting of the UNCEEA will take place in New York from 26-27 June 2008.
 
The Global Assessment of Water Statistics and Water Accounts and the Global Assessment of Energy Accounts have been launched in April 2008.
 
The Joint Sub-regional Training Session on the System of Environmental-Economic Accounting for Water (SEEAW) was held in Amman, Jordon from 10-13 March 2008.
 
The The 12th meeting of the London Group took place in Rome from 17-19 December 2007.
 
The Global Assessment of Energy Statistics and Balances has been completed and the preliminary report is now available.
 
The Second Meeting of the UNCEEA took place in New York from 5-6 July 2007.
 
A Searchable Archive of Publications on Environmental-Economic Accounting is now available.
