Additionally, this webinar will showcase the difference between international and national data strategies, as well as project-level versus organizational data strategies to equip participants with the knowledge necessary to bring to their own projects.

Data Strategy and Governance in Türkiye: Strategies and Frameworks for Effective Management and Sharing of Government Data

In Türkiye, data sharing is emphasized within the framework of its data strategies to improve decision-making processes, enable more effective policy implementation, and the quality of public services. As well as the role of NSO's in the data ecosystem is crucial in the world, The Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT) also plays an important role in data management and data sharing by coordinating data management policies, rules, and inter-agency cooperation and leads the processes of collecting, compiling, and disseminating official statistics.

In this presentation, the studies carried out by partner institutions on the data ecosystem are presented through the lens of TURKSTAT. Additionally, it will also cover the studies carried out by TURKSTAT to increase the efficiency of data sharing and management among public institutions and other uses and to harmonize Türkiye's data governance practices with international standards by providing expertise in official statistics and data management to these stakeholders are presented.
