2020 Round of Population and Housing Censuses:
Contemporary Technologies and Implementation

The side-event on the 2020 round of population and housing censuses focuses on the use of contemporary technologies. NSOs are increasingly utilizing modern technologies with a view to improving the efficiency and effectiveness of their census operations as well as enhancing the quality of their census results. Technology is allowing NSOs to innovate and modernize census operations, reduce cost and enhance the timeliness and accessibility of census results. The side event will feature the experience of Egypt and Colombia in the use of electronic data collection technologies in population and housing censuses.
