- production of radioactive elements for industrial or medical use
- treatment of radioactive nuclear waste
This class excludes:
- mining and concentration of uranium and thorium ores, see 1200
- manufacture of yellowcake, see 1200
- disposal of transition radioactive waste (i.e. decaying within the period of temporary storage) from hospitals etc., see 9000
