United Nations Statistical Commission

46th Session (2015)   Civil society participation

Participation of NGOs

The Statistical Commission, an inter-governmental body, generally welcomes the participation of non-members and the representatives of NGOs in various aspects of its work, as observers. However, due to time and space constraints participation of representatives of NGOs in the forthcoming 46th session of the Commission (3-6 March 2015) is limited to those that are currently in consultative status with ECOSOC, who may participate as observers from the gallery, and on a first come-first served basis.

Representatives of CSOs wishing to attend the session as observers are kindly requested to communicate the composition of their delegations to the Secretary of the Commission, Ms. Jullyette Ukabiala (c/o Victor Leu (e-mails leu@un.org and ukabiala@un.org; room S-3059; fax 1 (212) 963-5305)). Please note that only scanned copies of notes verbales will be accepted by e-mail.

Please note also that all formal meetings of the Commission will be webcast, accessible through http://webtv.un.org/.

Non-members and members alike are welcome to attend all open side events. However, the newcomer orientation session held on 2 March, noon, is for government delegations only.

In addition, a briefing for NGOs entitled "Process of the development of the indicator framework for the goals and targets of the post-2015 development agenda: Briefing for NGOs" will be held 19 February 2015, from 1:15 p.m. -2:30 p.m. in CR-11.
