Description: The United Nations Statistics Division (UNSD), in collaboration with National Statistics Office of Georgia, is organizing the 10th Global Forum on Gender Statistics under the Global Gender Statistics Programme and the guidance of the Inter-Agency and Expert Group on Gender Statistics (IAEG-GS). The Forum will be an opportunity to: (a) review progress towards gender equality and women's empowerment, assess data availability, challenges, and countries' capacities to measure and monitor gender-relevant issues; (b) discuss initiatives, tools, and methods for the collection, production, dissemination, and use of gender statistics; (c) explore innovative approaches and initiatives for producing, analyzing, and utilizing data to monitor gender equality and women's empowerment; and (d) strategize on maximizing the use of existing data, including through the integration of a gender lens into current data processes.
Description: The 19th Meeting of the Inter-Agency and Expert Group on Gender Statistics (IAEG-GS) will be held in Tbilisi, Georgia, on 30 September 2025. The meeting, which is closed and by invitation only, will be attended by gender statistics experts representing international, regional, and national institutions that are part of the IAEG-GS. The meeting will review the progress of the IAEG-GS Advisory Group in responding to the Statistical Commission’s request to integrate a gender perspective into its work, including ongoing initiatives to mainstream a gender perspective into climate change statistics. It will also showcase national efforts to close data gaps in monitoring gender equality and feature updates from Regional Commissions and international agencies on their current initiatives to strengthen gender statistics.
Description: As part of our ongoing efforts to promote collaboration and peer learning among national statistical offices (NSOs) within Data for SIDS (DATAS) project following Data for Now model, we are scheduling this online meeting to facilitate the sharing of GEOSTAT Georgia’s experience in developing its Migration Data System with STATIN-Jamaica, which is currently planning a similar initiative.
Description: The High Level Seminar for European Neighbourhood Policy East and Central Asia Countries will focus on informing the senior management of the NSIs of the key issues and developments in the field of statistics, especially at the European and international level, as well as their impact on the work of these NSIs. This seminar will also provide an opportunity for the management of the NSIs of these regions to discuss issues of common interest and to network.
