Meetings of Inter-agency and expert group on MDG indicators (IAEG-MDG)

The 22nd and 23rd Meetings of Inter-agency and Expert Group on MDG Indicators (IAEG-MDGs) will be organized back to back on 20 and 21 February 2013 in New York. During the meetings, the outcomes of the debates on MDGs at the 67th session of the General Assembly as well as those of the Rio+20, will be reviewed. The participants will also discuss how to prepare the 2013 global MDG report and the work towards the final evaluation of MDGs in 2015, The meeting will be preceded by a half day meeting by the Task Team on Lessons learnt from MDG monitoring on 19 February 2013.

Inter-agency and expert group meeting on MDG indicators

The United Nations Statistics Division (UNSD) is organizing an Expert Group Meeting on Millennium Development Goals (MDG) Indicators. The meeting will be held in Geneva from 1 to 2 November 2012, hosted by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). The main purpose of this Expert Group Meeting is to share experience and lessons learned from the MDG monitoring in the last decade at both national and international levels. In addition, the meeting will discuss different options to exchange data/metadata to update MDG databases and will be an opportunity to identify key areas in which international agencies could provide technical assistance to strengthen MDG-related statistical capacity at the country level.

22nd meeting of the Inter-agency and expert group on MDG Indicators

The 22nd Inter-agency and Expert Group (IAEG) meeting on MDG indicators is part of the yearly consultation with national experts and international agencies to review and discuss issues related to the global MDG monitoring. This IAEG meeting will focus on: lessons learned from MDG monitoring in the last decade, options to exchange data/metadata to update the MDG global database, and MDG-related statistical capacity needs at the country level.
