Description: United Nations Statistics Division, under the guidance of the Inter-Secretariat Working Group on Household Surveys (ISWGHS), is embarking on a project to revise and update the series of United Nations methodological publications on household surveys.<br>The meeting will bring the experts together to:<br><ul><li>Review and gather input on the first draft of the revised UN Handbook on Household Surveys;</li><li>Conduct a mid-term assessment of the revision and consultation process;</li><li>Discuss plans for the disseminating, promoting and supporting the use of the revised handbook, along with a long-term strategies for keeping the handbook up to date.</li></ul><br>The draft handbook will be further revised based on input from the technical meeting and will be presented to the 56th UN Statistical Commission in 2025.
Description: Save the date to attend the fifteenth meeting of the Inter-agency and Expert Group on Sustainable Development Goal Indicators (IAEG-SDGs). The meeting will be held in person from 21 to 23 October 2024 in Oslo, Norway.

Emphasis is on the use of Vector data and Vector tools, but we will also touch into the use of Raster tools and Raster data. We will be using the Open Source GIS-tool QGIS.
Target Audience: The course is introductory, for persons with none to some practical experience in GIS/ GI/ cartography, wanting to learn the basics in using GIS for statistics production and analysis.

Description: The aim of the course is: (a) to improve the capacity of national statistical services to produce high quality ESA 2010 national accounts; (b) to achieve an understanding of the theoretical basis and structure of ESA 2010 national accounts, together with sources and methodology; (c) to provide a general overview and an understanding of the links of the different areas of the system of NA (excluding financial accounts).
Target Audience: Staff working in National Statistical Institutes and Competent National Authorities on the compilation of National Accounts (NA). The course is targeted at junior statisticians with at least one year's experience in NA through to staff with several years' experience.
