Description: The Pacific Community (SPC) in collaboration with the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and Pacific (ESCAP) will provide targeted technical advice and workshops in Kiribati to support the Government of Kiribati in various aspects of CRVS system strengthening. Activities will include the following:Capacity building for data cleaning and production of civil registration-based vital statistics;Business process mapping and analysis of death registration processes;Training to enable Kiribati’s inclusion in the regional cause-of-death (CoD) coding service for the Pacific; Technical advice on modernizing or replacing the current civil registration platform and BDM IT infrastructure;One-day consultation workshop will also be organized with stakeholders from the civil registry and the national statistics office, to pilot and evaluate the recently developed e-Learning on “Data Cleaning For Civil Registration-Based Vital Statistics”, an initiative supported by ESCAP, SPC, Vital Strategies and the Office for National Statistics (ONSDate: 23 September - 2 October 2025Location: Tarawa, KiribatiJoint Partner: ESCAP and Bloomberg Data for Health InitiativeWorkshop materials could be found here.
