Description: The main objective of this course is to offer an overview on the various necessary steps to compile a supply-and-use system and for the transformation of the resulting data in matrices, focusing on practical examples on how that compilation is made. The second objective is to provide an introduction into input-output analysis and to show how this technique may be used for structural analyses. In particular the course aims at illustrating in which fields input-output analysis can be used to address questions of high political relevance.
Target Audience: The course is targeted at ESS staff interested in the principles of compiling supply and use tables according to ESA2010 and in understanding the main concepts and the potentials of input-output analysis for empirical investigations of high political relevance; Sound command of English.
