The meeting of the Expert Group is a closed meeting, by invitation only, allows members of the Expert Group together with invited experts to review, consider and discuss its progress to-date, follow through on the guidance and decisions of the UN Statistical Commission and UN-GGIM. This meeting will enable the Expert Group to review and deliberate its future direction, including identifying how to advance the Global Statistical Geospatial Framework (GSGF); agree on its next steps to assist Member States in strengthening statistical geospatial integration and coordination towards the full implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development; and establish coordination mechanisms to enable Member States to build resilient, agile, relevant, responsive and robust statistical and data systems adhering to the Fundamental Principles of Official Statistics that fully integrate geospatial information. The Regional Workshop on Integrating Statistical and Geospatial Information for Sustainable Development with the theme 'The GSGF and Beyond' will provide a forum for deliberating key considerations for the integration of statistical and geospatial information, including promoting and raising awareness of the GSGF and the GSGF Implementation Guide, and examining how the GSGF can be practically operationalised by Member States to strengthen geo-statistical integration.
