Donor-funded projects
Projects to support capacity building and capacity development in developing countries cannot be sustained through internal funding of the United Nations System alone. A number of governments and partner organizations support additional projects that the Statistics Division carries out, often in collaboration with other implementing partners.
These projects typically focus on specific themes and/or specific countries and regions and complement activities carried out under the Regular Programme for Technical Cooperation (RPTC) and the Development Account Programme.
Recent donor-funded projects have been supported by the Governments of Australia, China, Japan and the United Kingdom, the European Commission, the World Bank, UNEP, UN-Women and other partner organizations:
- "Monitoring the Sustainable Development Goals" (FCDO UK)
- "Evidence and Data for Gender Equality (EDGE)" (UN Women)
- "Strengthening disability statistics in the era of the post-2015 development agenda" (Australia)
- "Natural Capital Accounting and Valuation of Ecosystem Services" (EU)
- "Statistical capacity-building and geospatial information management project" (China)
- "Statistical capacity-building for China and other developing countries" (China)
- "Building the statistical capacity of developing countries to measure, monitor and report on the Sustainable Development Goals" (Japan)
- Data For Now (Data4Now) initiative (Italy)
- Collaborative on administrative data (non-funded)
