Names in parentheses (for example: Official Name (variant name))
may either be exonyms, replaced obsolete names or minority names,
or other official variant names. Generally, the first name is
supposed to be the principal one, and the name
in parentheses is supposed to be a secondary one.
Examples are:

Warszawa (Warschau);
Warschau is the Dutch exonym for Warszawa.

St.Petersburg (Leningrad);
Leningrad is the obsolete name for St.Petersburg.

Kautokeino (Guovdageaidnu);
Guovdageaidnu is the Saami name for Kautokeino; Saami is a minority
language in Norway.

's-Gravenhage (Den Haag);
Den Haag is the popular version of the name of the seat of
the government in the Netherlands.
