About this application

The Big Data Training Catalog has been developed and is being maintained by the Task Team on Training, Competencies and Capacity Development of the UN Committee of Experts on Big Data and Data Science for Official Statistics (UN-CEBD).
It is based on a protoype developed by the Task Team on Earth Observation Data and has been expanded to cover a variety of aspects on Big Data and associated prerequisites.

The Catalog contains courses and materials that can help with gaining the skills needed to use big data sources for the production of official statistics. This covers technical skills, like programming techniques, as well data management, ethics and generic soft skills.

The Catalog can be searched based on course/material descriptions and it can be linked to the dimensions and proficiency levels defined in the Competency Framework and the Maturity Matrix. The latter can be used to define a personal learning path by focusing on courses / materials that are most relevant for a specific work environment and skill level of the learner.
