The rapid evolution of information technology has profoundly transformed global trade, paving the way for unprecedented cross-border digital interactions and transactions. In the wake of this digital revolution, the need for accurate and comprehensive statistics on cross-border digital trade has become increasingly apparent.

Join us at the International Workshop on Cross-Border Digital Trade, where experts from the IMF, OECD, UN Trade and Development, and WTO will share insights from the newly released Handbook on Measuring Digital Trade. This handbook establishes a framework for compiling cross-border digital trade statistics and addresses the pressing need for accurate measurement in this rapidly evolving domain. Learn about the conceptual framework for statistics on cross-border digital trade and discover sources and methods for compiling digital trade statistics at the upcoming technical workshop. Participants will have the opportunity to become familiar with the Handbook on Measuring Digital Trade and hear about its incorporation into related statistical frameworks and manuals. The event also encourages countries to share their experiences in implementing the Handbook and to discuss issues arising in statistical compilation, including the potential use of alternative data sources to fill gaps in existing official data sources.

This event is essential for statistical compilers, policymakers, and data users seeking to ensure that the adoption of digitalization in international trade is well captured and understood.

The workshop will be conducted in English.
