Recent turmoil in some of the Arab countries has adversely impacted the functioning of their national statistical systems. This seminar will assess the extent to which the quality and credibility of official statistics has been adversely affected and how this can be rectified or reversed. The seminar will also discuss the impact on data collection and dissemination efforts. Looking ahead, the seminar will discuss the agenda for future development of official statistics in the region.
