About
During the 7th international conference on Big Data in Yogyakarta in November 2022, the UN Committee of Experts on Big Data and Data Science of Official Statistics (UNCEBD) also held its annual plenary meeting. Aside from the review of activities of the task teams, the regional and sector hubs and the UN Global Platform, the UNCEBD members discussed four proposals, namely (A) a more systematic collaboration between the task teams and the regional and sector hubs to improve the synergies of methodological development with project and training activities; (B) active collaboration between UNCEBD and the Expert Group on Integration of Statistical and Geospatial Information (EG-ISGI); (C) the terms of reference for the Data Science Leaders' Network; and (D) concrete and practical use of privacy-enhancing technologies for access to sensitive data.
In this UNCEBD Open House, we would like to have another exchange of views on those topics, ahead of the formal discussion at the Statistical Commission. This meeting serves the purpose of providing information as well as gathering additional ideas and proposals, which UNCEBD could use in further developing its work programme.
