About
The UN Datathon (3-6 November) welcomes participants from around the globe of all ages and backgrounds, as long as you have a basic level of data science experience. If you are passionate about data-driven solutions at local and global levels, and eager to contribute to the implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, this event is for you!
During the UN Datathon, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with others and develop innovative data-driven applications, tools, or statistical models using geospatial data in combination with other data sources. Whether you prefer to join remotely or participate in-person, there will be opportunities for you to engage, either online or at the main venue in Montevideo, Uruguay and at the satellite venues in Brazil, China, and the United Arab Emirates. Specific prizes can be won by the best youth team. Winning solutions will be given the opportunity to partner with international agencies and scale up for real-life application.
In this first UN Datathon Webinar, we'll explain the Datathon's background, objectives, and the dynamic partnership between the UN Youth group and the UN Committee of Experts on Big Data and Data Science for official statistics. You'll meet the organizing partners who contribute to the success of this global initiative. Join us to understand the mission of the UN Datathon and its commitment to advancing sustainable development through data-driven solutions.
Get inspired and empowered to make a difference on this exciting journey towards the #UNdatathon2023!
