Population size and density
Collection and dissemination of data from the Demographic Yearbook
The United Nations Statistics Division collects data on population size through the Demographic Yearbook system. The three questionnaires used are:

 Population Estimates Questionnaire (PDF 49 KB)
   

Five tables on population size are collected through these questionnaires. These tables are then disseminated in the regular editions of the Demographic Yearbook and through the Population and Vital Statistics Report. Print copies of the Demographic Yearbook can be purchased through the UN Publications Order Form.
