Over the past fifty years, the Statistics Centre of Iran has tried to produce backup copies of data from its data collection and documentation processes by use of the latest technology.
This activity, especially during the last 6 years, has been being done in accordance with the ISO 27001 of the Information Security Management System (ISMS) (including accuracy, integrity, confidentiality and accessibility). Thus, the backup range includes all required files, documentation and databases. Back-up measures are done automatically according to the level of importance, regular time intervals, level of confidentiality and accessibility on a daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly basis.
Several back-up copies are made and kept in a safe place in separate building from the SCI. The building is protected against natural disasters and enjoys proper access.
This operation is always monitored and audited by performing undeclared maneuvers. At given intervals, retrieval of back-up files (copies) is performed randomly to ensure the accuracy of operations. All operations, including backup, monitoring and respective evaluations, are documented.
