Deputy Manager, PARIS21
El Iza Mohamedou is the Deputy Secretariat Manager at the Partnership in Statistics for Development in the 21st Century (PARIS21) hosted at the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). PARIS21 is a global partnership of national, regional and international statistics experts and policy makers seeking to strengthen statistics and promote the use of robust statistical information by policy makers and citizens with a primary focus on low income countries. Ms Mohamedou holds a PhD in Economics and has experience in designing and implementing multidisciplinary projects, institutional strengthening, programme evaluation, market entry and country studies, socio-economic and feasibility studies, as well as capacity building and strategic planning exercises. She has more than 20 years of international experience working with international financial institutions such as the World Bank, African Development Bank, UN Agencies such as UNICEF, NGOs, communities, regional institutions, and governments. Ms Mohamedou manages the Secretariat 's country and regional support programmes.
Founded in November 1999 by the United Nations, the European Commission, the OECD, the International Monetary Fund, and the World Bank, PARIS21 works in over 90 countries, prioritising disadvantaged statistical systems in low income, fragile states, and small island developing states, and partners with a wide-range of institutions globally with the goal of strengthening national statistical capacity to improve the provision, availability and use of quality data and foster dialogue within societies on the use of data for accountability and evidence-based policy making
