Update of IMTS web pages
(August 2009)
At the beginning of September 2008, the International Merchandise Trade Statistics Section (IMTSS) started to restructure and to significantly increase the information on its web pages for International Merchandise Trade Statistics (IMTS).
Since October 2008, all information is structured according to the four main areas of work of the IMTSS which are: 1. Methodology IMTS , 2. UN Comtrade database, 3. Analytical tables (publications) and 4. International cooperation and workshops (IMTS).
In April we added (i) historical data for the years 1900-1960 and (ii) the IMTS tables published in the Monthly Bulletin of Statistics (MBS). In addition, we also provide now detailed information on the conversion of data on UN Comtrade from HS2007 to earlier classifications.
Now we added (i) the reports and background documents on IMTS to the Statistical Commission since 1997, and (ii) information about UNSD’s cooperation with other international and regional organizations on IMTS.
Also, the information regarding the ongoing revision process of the international recommendations on IMTS will be constantly updated

Please feel free to provide any feedback concerning our web pages and its contents by sending an email to comtrade@un.org.
