The United Nations Statistics Division collects data on ethnocultural characteristics through the Demographic Yearbook system. Ethnocultural
characteristic data are collected through the Population Census Questionnaire (PDF 146 KB) |

Three tables on ethnocultural characteristics are disseminated through the Demographic Yearbook special topic issues. Specifically, tables on nationality and/or ethnic group, religion and language, are disseminated through the special topic issue dedicated to population censuses, last published in 1993. Print copies of the Demographic Yearbook can be purchased through the UN Publications Order Form. The forthcoming technical reports review the collection and dissemination of data ethnocultural characteristics within the Demographic Yearbook.
