Issue 9. The inclusion of international organizations in the SNA

Back to Research Agenda

Description of the issue
In the SNA, international organizations are treated as units that are resident in the rest of the world (paragraphs 4.173 to 4.175). It would in principle be possible to treat international organizations as a standard subset of the rest of the world and indeed to compile a full set of accounts for them.
Discussions on the issue
The AEG considered the issue of the recording of the output of international financial istitutions and its use by Member States at its 9th meeting and acknowledged that it requires further work.
