Sana is a medical doctor, holds a M.Sc. in Public Health and an Advanced Certificate in International Health, Discrimination and Human Rights. She has 20+ years of experience in health systems strengthening, health research, and maternal and child health monitoring. Sana held senior positions at the World Health Organization, the Canadian Accreditation Council (CAC), USAID and recently at IDRC. Sana published in international medical journals and newsletters and was a member of several scientific committees. Sana joined IDRC in February 2017 to work in the Centre of Excellence (CoE) for CRVS Systems, and played a critical role with the team in setting its strategic direction and research agenda, as well in leading advocacy and capacity development to strengthen CRVS systems especially in Africa. Currently Sana is a Senior Program Specialist for Innovating for Maternal and Child Health in Africa initiative.
