Professor Romeela Mohee joined COL as the Education Specialist -- Higher Education on 10 April 2017. She has been working in the higher education sector for the past 28 years as an academic, researcher and in management as Head of Department, Dean of Faculty of Engineering, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Academia) and for the past three-year term as Vice-Chancellor of the University of Mauritius. She holds a Professional Chair in Chemical and Environmental Engineering.
Professor Romeela Mohee has served on various academic committees/forums at both national and regional levels and is an author of many publications linked to environmental management and sustainable development. Professor Romeela Mohee has served on the board of the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU), as Director for a period of one and a half years.
Professor Mohee holds a Ph.D in Systems modelling from University of Mauritius and an Energy Engineering Degree from the National Institute of Applied Science of Lyon (I.N.S.A), France and a Diploma of General Studies (D.E.U.G.) from the University of Reunion.
