Grace Mutung 'u researches on ICT policy in Kenya and Africa, with specialisation in digital rights, development and digitalisation. She holds an Master of Arts in Contemporary Diplomacy (internet governance) from the University of Malta, a Bachelor of Laws from University of Nairobi and an higher diploma in information systems management from Strathmore University.
She has been involved in ICT policy development processes over the past 10 years and was a 2017 Open Technology Fund Senior fellow studying information controls at election times in East Africa. She is an affiliate at the Berkman Klein Center for Internet and Scottie at Harvard Law School, a curator on Sub-Saharan Africa internet governance issues at the Geneva Internet Platform and an associate at the Kenya ICT Action Network (KICTANet) where she carries out policy and legal analysis.
She has been leading KICTANet’s policy research and advocacy on data protection in Kenya which focuses on shaping a policy for Kenya’s digitalisation and a data protection law.
