Glossary of the 1993 SNA - Definition of Term

TermTransitivity (in international comparisons)
DefinitionTransitivity (in international comparisons) is a condition which implies that the direct (binary) index for country k based on country i is equal to the indirect index obtained by multiplying the direct (binary) index for country k based on country j by the direct (binary) index for country j based on country i.
