Biography
Senior Researcher Marjut Pietiläinen is a gender statistics expert and team leader at Statistics Finland. She is an active member of several national and international expert groups. She chaired the IAEG-GS in 2016 to 2018 and since 2020 she has chaired the Advisory Group of Gender Indicators of the IAEG-GS. At the national level, she chairs the expert group of the Gender-based violence survey (GBV), for example, and is a member of the Committee for Combating Violence against Women and Domestic Violence (NAPE). She is also an expert member of the subcommittee on Gender, Power and the Economy of the Council for Gender Equality. Besides the GBV survey, she is also involved in two research projects: The impact of the COVID-19 crisis on gender equality in Finland, and the LAKU study of the costs on domestic violence in Finland.
