Biography
Ms. Katja Branger is a statistician at the Federal Statistical Office (FSO) Switzerland. She is responsible for the gender statistics since 2004, coordinates the work on the topic in the FSO, and collaborates with several other government agencies. She is member of the Steering Group on Gender Statistics of the UN Economic Commission for Europe since 2010 and newly co-chair of the Inter Agency and Expert Group on Gender Statistics.
Ms. Branger has been working on social statistics since 1997 when she joined FSO. Prior she worked as assistant at the University of Zurich. She studied sociology, social pedagogy and criminology and holds a PhD in sociology.
