Glossary of the 1993 SNA - Definition of Term

TermNon-life insurance claims
DefinitionNon-life insurance claims are the amounts payable in settlement of claims that become due during the current accounting period (claims become due at the moment when the eventuality occurs which gives rise to a valid claim accepted by the insurance enterprise), but excluding payments to households in the form of social insurance benefits.
