Purpose: Croatian Bureau of Statistics (CBS) developed ''Back 2 Basics Statistics''. The goal of the project is to popularize statistics and simplify the frequently used, but sometimes insufficiently understandable statistical terms to the general public. ''Back 2 Basics Statistics'' is based on theory, but also provides examples from everyday life. ''Back 2 Basics Statistics'' are make as videos that are published on YouTube and as booklets that are distributed to teachers and students, but also to all interested parties.

Mode of implementation: Croatian Bureau of Statistics (CBS) developed ''Back 2 Basics Statistics'' to help general public to better understand statistics. The idea was to promote statistical literacy and help students in process of self-learning. CBS has so far produced 23 videos explaining basic statistical concepts. Videos were made into booklets, which CBS sent to 360 upper secondary schools on the territory of the Republic of Croatia in 2017 and distributed them at all the events. Videos and booklets are bilingual; therefore, teachers and students who are not from Croatia can use it as well.
Outcomes: Statistical literacy is an important skill for all generation; it can help people to make grounded decisions in today’s complex world. Croatian Bureau of Statistics (CSB) as the main disseminator of official statistics in Croatia invests a great effort in the promotion of statistical literacy. With ''Back 2 Basics Statistics’’, CBS helped everyone who wants to understand statistics in a simple and fun way. For this project, CBS received a lot of positive reactions from teachers and students, as well as the public. CBS currently made 23 videos and 17 booklets. In the future CBS plans to add additional ''Back 2 Basics Statistics’’topics.
