The African Centre of Statistics (ACS) of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) will hold the first StatsTalk-Africa webinar series entitled: Demystifying STAT tool for skill development for official statistics 8 October 2024, 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM GMT+3 via Microsoft Teams.
The "Statistical Training Needs Assessment Tool," also known as STAT, has been developed for National Statistical Offices to help them assess and analyse staff skills gaps and decide how to prioritize and meet competence development needs using different types of informal and formal learning approaches. The webinar will introduce STAT and present experiences from countries that have started adopting it to strategically plan staff competence development to produce official statistics now and in the future.
The StatsTalk-Africa is a monthly webinar series being organized by the UNECA-ACS to demystify and provide a space for dialogues on data, statistics, and innovative techniques and tools among data experts and users with within ECA, Africa and rest of the world. Demystifying and unpacking statistical concepts mean that Stats Talk will have experienced speakers and practitioners from the region and across the globe.
English will be the official language for the session. No other translation will be provided.
