Workshop on CountryData – Technologies for Data Exchange

Bangkok, Thailand, 18-22 March 2013


This workshop will provide training to participants on technologies used for data exchange and dissemination with the international level; and specifically with CountryData (data.un.org/countryData) a website for the dissemination of national development indicators. The training will mainly focus on Statistical Data and Metadata eXchange (SDMX) a technology which can be used to automate and standardize data and metadata exchange so that data are more timely and can be updated easily. The workshop will provide participants with an introduction to SDMX, followed up with practical examples for the exchange of national development indicators with a focus on specific key SDMX tools such as SDMX Registry and mapping tool.
