UNSD inventory of National Quality Assurance Frameworks

Quality The quality of official statistics is a central concern for all national statistical offices (NSOs). The topic of national quality assurance frameworks was discussed at the 2010 session of the UN Statistical Commission based on the basis of the report prepared by Statistics Canada, which advocated that all NSOs develop and use a national quality assurance framework , and proposed that a generic national quality assurance framework template with guidelines be prepared to help the NSOs develop and/or strengthen their individual frameworks.

The establishment of an expert group to develop the template and accompanying guidelines was agreed upon at the Commission, as was the development of this website as a platform for the exchange of exchanging information and experiences on national and international quality assurance work.

UNSD is maintaining an "inventory" of documents and website links on quality. It is a work-in-progress to which additional information will be continually added as it becomes available.
