World Trade Flows: 1962-2000
The attached paper, Feenstra et al. (2005), is widely used for research by international trade economists. In the paper, Feenstra et al. document the dataset's construction and a set of bilateral trade data by commodity for 1962-2000, which is available from www.nber.org/data (International Trade Data, NBER-UN world trade data).
Please note that Feenstra et al's statement on Comtrade (1984-2000 data from UN comtrade SITC rev. 2 only includes observations that are 100,000 USD or larger) was incorrect. Comtrade compiles and disseminates trade data without imposing any lower-level threshold of trade value.
