Russia and Others to Promote their Censuses during WSD

Day (WSD) will be celebrated in conjunction with the All-Russian Population
Census , scheduled to be held from 14-25
October 2010. Both the census and WSD will be promoted by the Federal
Service of State Statistics (Rosstat) in an integrated manner. The previous
population census in this country was held in 2002.
In Botswana,
2011 Census materials will be distributed on World Statistics Day to all
senior High Schools in the capital Gaborone to make pupils better
understand the rationale of the forthcoming census. Botswana organized its
last census in 2001.
Mauritius also
plans to launch a “Census at School Project” on 20 October (WSD) to inform
pupils about the 2011 census. The previous population census in Mauritius
was held in 2000.
