Sylvie Michaud is the Assistant Chief Statistician responsible for the analytical studies branch, the methodology branch and the statistical infrastructure at Statistics Canada. She is also the innovation champion within the organisation.
Sylvie is a graduate from Laval University where she holds a bachelor in mathematics with specialisation in statistics. She has a second degree diploma from l’École Nationale d’administration publique.
Sylvie was an elected member of the International Association of Research on Income and Wealth. She currently chairs the board of directors of the UNESCO statistical Institute. She is also a member of a working group from the United Nations Statistical Division on Big Data.
