Marjo Bruun started her seven-year term as Director General of Statistics Finland on 1 May 2012. Ms. Bruun holds the degree of Master of Science (Agriculture).
Before coming to Statistics Finland, Ms. Bruun was employed as Director General of the Information Centre of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry (Tike) since 2007. Prior to this, Ms. Bruun headed Tike’s statistics group and worked as an expert and consultant in the private sector. Until June 2019, Ms. Bruun is Chairperson of the Conference of European Statisticians (CES) and its Bureau, which operates under the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe. She is also a member of the Partnership Group that supports the European Statistical System Committee.
