Under his leadership two five-year strategies for the development of statistics in Ukraine and ten annual statistical work programs have been developed and implemented. He has prepared the legal text for the respective Article on “Statistics” in the Association Agreement between the EU and Ukraine, a number of analytical papers for the Government, one long-term (10 years), two mid-term (5 years) and five annual Government programs of Economic and Social Development and yearly forecasts.
Under his supervision the joint 5-year project with the World Bank for the development of Ukrainian statistics was successfully implemented as well as two Global Assessments of the national statistical system of Ukraine (conducted by Eurostat) finalised.
Mr Pishcheiko acted as a focal point for the Program Committee of the “International Association of Official Statistics’ Conference “Getting our messages across” that took place in Kyiv in 2012.
During five years he was a National Project Director (Governmental focal point) of the "Millennium Development Goals -- Ukraine" within a Project of the United Nations Development Program in Ukraine.
Mr Pishcheiko was a member of the UN working group for developing the Methodology and Compiler Manual for foreign trade Statistics IMTS-2010 as well as a Technical Report for IDP Statistics and of the UNECE working group for developing the Generic Law on Official Statistics.
Mr Pishcheiko also has 12 years’ experience as Assistant Professor at Universities.
