Senior Research Fellow, Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD)
Towfiqul Islam Khan is an Economist and currently a Senior Research Fellow at the Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD), Bangladesh. He has undertaken researches and published in a number of areas including Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), financing for development, data revolution and fiscal policy. He is a member of the SDG Working Team constituted under the Prime Minister 's Office, Government of Bangladesh. He is also a member of the SDGs NGO Sub-Committee constituted under the NGO Affairs Bureau of Bangladesh. He is also a member of the Task Team on Capacity Development 4.0 of Paris21 and UNDP, and Global Partnership for Sustainable Development Data. He is a member of an Independent Working Group on Illicit Financial Flows created by the Financial Transparency Coalition, a group of global think tanks and civil society organisations. Khan was previously members of a number of technical committees set up by the Bangladesh government agencies including Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS), External Relations Division and Ministry of Commerce. He was the civil society representative of Global Partnership for Effective Development Cooperation (GPEDC) in Bangladesh. He is the Principal Researcher of the study titled Quest for Inclusive Transformation of Bangladesh: Who Not to be Left Behind. He is currently involved in several research studies including on Southern Voice State of SDGs (SVSS) and New Metrics of Development Effectiveness. He received Australian Leadership Award (ALA) in 2008 to carry out his postgraduation academic degree at University of Melbourne, Australia.
