Sheila S. Mudenda is currently serving as Assistant Director in Information, Research and Dissemination Division- one of the four technical divisions of Central Statistical Office (CSO) in Zambia. Her main role is to coordinate Information Technology development and application; research and dissemination in order to ensure increased utilization of statistical information by various users. Her areas of specialisation are demography, population & development, gender and strategic planning.
She has over 25 years progressive experience in production and dissemination of official statistics using surveys and censuses. Sheila is also the National Coordinator for the National Strategy for the Development of Statistics (NSDS), currently coordinating the development of the second generation NSDS. She is also the National Coordinator of the Strategy for the Harmonisation of Statistics in Africa (SHaSA) and an eGDDS Coordinator for Zambia.
During her long service with CSO, Sheila has developed a huge passion for statistical knowledge sharing and capacity building to stakeholders in the National Statistical System. Sheila is an active National Consultant on Statistics, currently engaged with UNECA on the Development Accountability Tenth Tranche project.
