Radhika is currently economic advisor for UNDP Ghana and the Gambia. Previously she was strategic planning advisor for the UN country team in South Africa. Prior to that she served as Deputy Director and co-coordinator of the Employment, Social Protection and Development Innovation Team at the International Policy Centre for Inclusive Growth (IPC-IG). The IPC-IG, a partnership of UNDP with the Government of Brazil, focused on policy dialogue, applied research and South-South learning and cooperation on policy interventions to help to realize inclusive growth. For the last many years she has been working on employment and productive inclusion issues, policy integration between social protection and local economic development; and green jobs and structural change for inclusive growth. Her work on innovation and structural transformation was focused on the analysis of country experiences and the identification of policy space to support innovations and to foster structural transformation in the context of addressing various development imperatives.In this regard she has also worked for many years on information and communication technologies for development policy and mainstreaming. Prior to working with UNDP, she undertook research, taught economics. In addition to supporting country programmes and identifying emerging policy options and promising implementation modalities, she has been active in various global fora and partnerships.
