Neli Esipova is the Director of Research for Global Migration and Regional Director for Gallup 's World Poll for 29 Eastern European and former Soviet states. Esipova leads Gallup 's research on global migration and global women 's studies, and has managed more than 250 studies on various topics in Europe and Asia. She frequently shares insights from her research with international audiences and has presented at numerous migration, well-being, gender, positive psychology and leadership conferences.
Esipova offers her clients extensive knowledge of migration and gender topics and experience in survey methodology. She has consulted with The World Economic Forum on survey implementation. Her clients have included the World Bank, the International Labour Organization (ILO), the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), the International Organization for Migration (IOM), the Broadcasting Board of Governors, Office of International and Refugee Health, the Internal Revenue Service, TNK-BP, IRS and the Belgian Contact Point of the European Migration Network.
In the field of migration research, Esipova led the development of Gallup 's Potential Net Migration Index and Migrant Acceptance Index, both of which are used by policymakers and researchers around the world. The Potential Net Migration Index uses Gallup data from more than 140 countries and areas to estimate the potential population shifts if people migrated as they wished. The Migrant Acceptance Index gauges people 's acceptance of migrants in more than 140 countries and areas, based on degree of increasing proximity.
Esipova also has an extensive expertise in qualitative research. She leads Gallup World Poll efforts on pretesting and cognitive interviewing worldwide. Esipova coauthored a chapter printed in Qualitative Research Online, the first book that provides a complete analysis and comparison of traditional and online qualitative methods.
Esipova is the coauthor of more than 100 published articles. As Director of Global Migration Research, Esipova has been published in Migration Letters, the IOM migration research series, and she led the team that wrote the main chapter of IOM 2013 annual World Migration Report and IOM-Gallup report, How the World Views Migration, in 2015. She also contributed to the United Nation 's 2018 World Happiness Report, which focused on migrants ' happiness.
