Mitchell Loeb is a Health Scientist in the Office of Analysis and Epidemiology at the National Center for Health Statistics, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, USA. He has previously carried out epidemiologic research in Canada, Norway and several countries in sub-Saharan Africa and South-East Asia. He is currently concentrating on the analysis of disability data from various US health surveys and continues his international commitment to the development of cross-nationally and cross-culturally comparable disability measures through his work with the Washington Group on Disability Statistics (WG).
Mitchell routinely trains representatives from National Statistical Offices (NSOs), non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and Disabled Persons Organizations (DPOs) in understanding and adapting the WG approach to disability measurement for incorporation into their own national data collection systems, for monitoring the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disability and for meeting the targets established by the 2030 Agenda on Sustainable Development.
