Dr. Mark Peterson is a Senior Program Officer with the Strategy, Data, and Analytics team at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Previously, he worked with Orange Silicon Valley, the San Francisco-based innovation office of a global telecom provider, focusing on improving data discovery, data sharing, and data rights management at the enterprise level, and founded and led the Data and Analytics team at the US Agency for International Development. Prior to joining USAID, Mark was a management consultant with the Boston Consulting Group (BCG), shaping strategy and operations in global health, pharmaceuticals, and education. He received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University and his Ph.D. in Bioinformatics from the University of California, San Francisco.
