Deputy Coordinator, Joint IDP Profiling Service (JIPS)
Laura Kivelä works as the Deputy Coordinator at the Joint IDP Profiling Service (JIPS). JIPS is an inter-agency service supporting governments, humanitarian and development actors on collaborative data processes to inform joint, evidence-based responses in displacement situations, with particular focus on internally displaced persons (IDPs). Laura joined JIPS in 2014 and has since worked in different roles advising partners in various countries carrying out collaborative data processes to improve evidence on displaced populations. At global level, she has been contributing to various multi-stakeholder processes including the work of the Expert Group on Refugee and IDP Statistics and developing indicators to measure progress towards durable solutions for internally displaced persons. Before joining JIPS, Laura worked on community development, health and human rights issues in Switzerland, Finland, Zambia, Nepal, Senegal and Kenya.
